Background

    In the late '90's we started learning about Classical Education and were beginning to implement classical methods in our homes. In 1999, our children became involved in Severn Run Christian Classical Homeschool Academy, a homeschool tutorial in Millersville, MD (www.srccha.org).  The tutorial spans grades 3-8 and has been a wonderful and challenging addition to our homeschooling efforts.  Their support has helped us implement the Classical model and has networked us together with like-minded families.  We cannot thank  SRCCHA enough for the foundations they have established in our children.

    Now that our children have reached the high school years, it is our desire to continue their education in the Classical tradition.  After evaluating the various options available, we decided that the 2-day tutorial format provided the most benefit.  We retain the benefits of educating our children at home, and also receive the benefits of tutoring and small group discussion and interaction.

Board Members:

Douglas and Jodi Church have seven children and have been homeschooling since 1995.  Douglas is a systems engineering manager for Northrop Grumman.  Jodi is a homemaker with a background in nursing.  They attend Bay Area Community Church. 

John and Gloria Taylor have four children and two grandsons.  They have been homeschooling for thirteen years.  John works as a cable splicer for Verizon.  Gloria is a homemaker and works part-time as a histology technician at Baltimore Washington Medical Center.  They attend New Covenant Church in Arnold.
