Mrs. Urgo considers herself a neo-expressionist artist. Her paintings express the joys and struggles of our walk with God. Her work tells a story and reflects a time in a person’s life. She earned her BFA in 1982 from the Hartford Art School, of the University of Hartford. Since then she has been exhibiting her work as well as doing commissions. In the last several years, she has done work for different churches doing paintings and backdrops. Royce Urgo has been teaching in the home school community for the last ten years. She has also worked with the elderly and special education students.  Mrs. Urgo believes all students have artistic ability. Each will express them differently and that should be applauded. The basics of art skills can be learned; it is how you visualize them and put them together that makes you an artist. "It is my joy as an instructor to show students their potential and give them different ways to express themselves".

"The foundation of all social order must be laid in families and in the discipline of youth. ... The Education of youth, an employment of more consequence than making laws and preaching the gospel because it lays the foundation on which both law and gospel rest for success..."
